1940 Ford Coupe Deluxe is a certified showstopper.
Starting from the outside, Kenyon Auto Sales presents to you this gorgeous Deluxe Coupe, with a three stage, three-tone paint job that was completed by Wayne Barrett, who came out of retirement by special request just to paint this vehicle. The top of the car features candy apple red, while the lower half is a unique corral mixed specifically for this project. The chameleon flames feature platinum air brushed highlights and accent pinstriping along with maroon pinstriping along the body lines and badging for an extra pop of color. In the photos, it appears that the running panels have ghosted flames; these are actually reflections from the body flames and are present any time the car is in direct sunlight. Under the striking paint, with the exception of the detail work and running boards, remains the original steel body as it emerged from the factory. There is NO rust present on this car.
The door handles, gutter, cowl vent and deck lid have all been shaved for a smooth clean exterior with a fuel door that has been tailored to match. The firewall has been completely reconstructed and smoothed as well.
The car features keyless entry and hideaway rear license plate mount. The car features a one-piece curved front windshield with modern gasket. The door glass and split rear windshield follow suit with their one-piece construction. The interior boasts Italian leather seats and dash pad with carpeted floors and matching floor mats. The trunk is also fully upholstered with a full-size, one-piece matching carpet floor mat for added protection. You will remain comfortable with the modern conveniences of power windows, electric windshield wipers with billet wiper arms, power steering and a Vintage Air kit that provides excellent heating and air conditioning to the cab. The tilt steering column is complete with a custom Budnik steering wheel and column mounted shifter. All steering column levers, dash knobs and inserts are billet aluminum. The carβs electrical system has been completely upgraded to a Painless wiring harness with remote Optima battery and disconnect switch mounted in the trunk.
The sound system is phenomenal and features 6 Infinity speakers powered by a 300 watt JL Audio amplifier. A kicker 15 inch XPL subwoofer adds to the system and is powered by a separate 500 watt JL Audio amplifier.
This Deluxe Coupe is powered by a Chevy 350 coupled with a TH700R4 automatic transmission with overdrive. The rear end is a GM 10-bolt with posi-trac and 3.40 gears. The clean engine bay houses a polished brass four-core radiator with electric fan, Mallory ignition system, and Edelbrock carburetor. The camβs distinctive lope is highlighted by the 2.5 inch Flowmaster exhaust. Car was recently placed on the chassis dyno and performed well at 120 MPH and the report is available.
The suspension includes leaf springs in the rear with Mustang II independent front suspension and power steering rack and pinion. Disk brakes in the front and power brake booster mounted under the floor, coupled with drum brakes in the rear aid this carβs drivability.
The car sits on custom made, one-of-a-kind, aluminum Boyd Coddington 17 inch front and 18 inch rear wheels with brand new low profile tires. The wheels were recently professionally polished, balanced and certified when the tires were replaced; a full ride performance and harmonics report is available for each individual wheel. All upgrades and conversions of the suspension and electrical systems were professionally completed by Snow White Performance.
Actual mileage is different from what is currently shown on the odometer, as it was not functional for a brief period. Actual miles placed on the car and drivetrain since completion are around 1,500 at most.
