Not only is this special Indian Chief a one-of-a-kind, it has real history and acclaim. Found in Eastern North Carolina about 10 years ago, it was once owned by Walter Zawaski, the Crew Chief of a NASCAR Icon, Ralph Earnhardt. From legend, it was said that Walter would disappear on the Chief for a few hours, or even a few days as he would seek out a new location to purchase ice-cream that he had never been before. This is a 1940 Chief, as the bits and pieces clearly show. It is wearing 42-46 tank badges. The engine number is still visible and it even still has oil in the tank! The story’s this Chief could tell are priceless and would be an important element in any collection. This motorcycle has been lovingly displayed at Indian Motorcycle Charlotte since its rescue years ago. The owner, Mark Moses has sold the dealership and presenting a few jewels from his personal collection to an enlightened few.

Adding to the wonderful story of this special treasure, it was used by David Uhl as the model for one of his incredible paintings, actually one of the official artwork of the Sturgis Rally.
