The year 1962 was the final year for the first generation of Chevrolet‘s legendary Corvette, and this fuel injected example pictured here represents the high water mark of power and performance. Underneath the fiberglass hood is a 327CI fuel injected solid lifter V-8 with a 11.25:1 compression ratio belting out an astonishing 360hp! That well exceeds the one horsepower per cubic inch mark and without any type of forced induction. The fuel injection unit gives this classic Corvette an easy start and instantaneous throttle response that was unheard of in its day. The transmission is a close ration T-10 4-speed manual and feeds power back to the 3.70 rear axle with positraction. Finished in gorgeous Roman Red with matching red hardtop and red interior, this Corvette was the end all be all of sports car performance in the early 1960s. The thin whitewall tires are period correct and the full size polished wheel covers with spinners are at once sporty and add an air of class. All chrome and rubbers are in excellent condition and the fine mesh grille shows no damage. Inside you will find two sporty vinyl covered buckets, wall to wall carpeting with bonded edges, AM radio, full instrumentation, and a passenger side grab handle for when things get exciting. Shut the door with a nice click and you are ensconced in a comfortable and quiet cabin with the hardtop on, or remove it for open air enjoyment. The white vinyl convertible top is also present and in excellent condition. This car is a four time NCRS top flight award winner and is believed to have been the personal car of NCRS president Tim McKeon who did the a frame off restoration in the late 90s. The car has been lovingly cared for, shown, and rarely driven since restoration. A full scrap book with restoration documentation, photographs, documented numbers, and other documentation is included with the sale.
