1962 Ford ThunderbirdHardtop Landau390 with Fuel Injection!New ice-cold Air Conditioning!Over $10K in upgrades w/ receipts!

Looking for that classic cruiser that has all the old-school appeal but yet modern comforts like A/C and fuel injection? Here you go! This ’62 Thunderbird has had an impressive amount of work done to it in recent years. This is part of an estate sale. The owner’s brother helped to complete the mechanical restoration of this T-bird’s rebuild, so the information that follows comes first-hand from one of the restorers. It is believed that this T-Bird originates from the Houston, MN area. That’s where the most recent owner acquired it around a decade ago. The car has been resprayed in its original “R” code Tucson yellow. To decode the VIN plate details, it was built in Wixom, MI. It has black trim from the factory. (one or two little seams have come open on the driver’s seat.) It came off the assembly line in May of 1962. The rear end axel ratio is 3.00:1. It has a Cruise-O-Matic transmission. (The tranny was sent in for resealing. The shop said it had already been recently rebuilt. A heavy duty stall torque converter was added at that time.) The body is a 63B code–Hardtop Landau. It is believed the Landau top is original. To me, probably the most impressive upgrade is the fuel injection system. It really makes this 390 come alive! It is an Air Sensors system. It works in tandem with an electronic ignition system and two electronic fuel pumps. (one by the tank, one by the engine) It has several add-on gauges: oil pressure, AFR gauge–digital air fuel ratio, and temp gauge. The engine was recently rebuilt and bored out 30 over. There’s less than 1,000 miles on the rebuild. It has a mild roller cam, and of course it has hardened valves so it can run great on unleaded gas. It comes with a battery tender for keeping the battery up during winter storage. The battery was new last summer. The radiator has been serviced and boiled out. It has true dual exhausts with what sound like flowmasters to me. The power brakes have all been redone, and the master cylinder has been rebuilt. A form-fitting dust cover is included in the trunk, along with an extra headlight bucket and power steering pump. The tires are new from last summer This beauty has a new A/C system from Classic Auto Air that uses the modern 134A coolant. The A/C is colder than my dad’s new Denali’s! The AM radio works, and an Audiovox FM converter has been added on the dash. The headliner is in great condition, and the power windows work, rear ones are a little slow. Slight wear on the driver’s arm rest has been repaired with liquid vinyl. Slight blemish on center console has also been repaired. It has the factory tilt away steering wheel that works great. The original jack and what appears to me to be the original spare are in the trunk with numerous extra parts. Manuals for and receipts for most everything are included. Over $10,000 in parts have been put into this beauty, and probably much more than double that in labor. The owner was very meticulous about keeping receipts and owner’s manuals, so this comes with over $8500.00 in receipts and a genuine FoMoCo Shop Manual! All of the receipts have been organized in a spreadsheet, and I would be happy to forward them to your gmail account if you’re interested. $250 non-refundable deposit due within 24 hours of winning the auction. Balance must be paid through cash or bank wire only within 7 days of the end of the auction. Enjoy the auction! You could be cruising in style & ice-cold A/C with this beauty! Bid with confidence!
