1963 Impala SS special ordered new in “Anniversary Gold”. Always a southwest car it spent most of its life in New Mexico and resided with the same owner from 1964 until he gave the car to his son in Tucson, AZ around 2017. It was always kept in good mechanical condition but required a cosmetic restoration at that point which his son and current owner undertook over the next 4 years.
The cosmetic restoration entailed a complete repaint in its original special order color of Anniversary Gold. The Impala retains all of its original panels including floorpans and trunk. All of the trim was restored or replaced at that time. Bumpers were rechromed. All of the weatherstripping and rubber seals were replaced. All of the glass is original with exception of the windshield which was replaced with new. Trunk retains its spare with complete original Jack in good shape.
The interior was completely redone with correct reproduction door panels, seat covers, and headliner sourced from “Impala Bobs.” SS cars came standard with a chrome console that houses the shifter. Dash Pad was replaced but the sun has made it “pull away” in the corners a bit. AC works great, car is also optioned with power steering, power brakes, and custom autosound stereo with bluetooth capability. All gauges work. Wipers are not currently functioning.
Powered by the correct “SA” code 327 with 4 barrel carburetor backed by a powerglide automatic transmission. Both were recently serviced and resealed documented with receipts. The Air conditioning was upgraded to modern R134a refrigerant with new compressor, drier, condenser, and lines. The radiator was upgraded to an aluminum Champion heavy duty large capacity type. The power steering and brakes were completely overhauled. All suspension components were inspected and replaced as needed.
Documented SS car with its original build sheet that was found under the seat during restoration. Restored as it was built from the factory with the same colors and options. The restoration is documented with a stack of receipts with Tens of thousands of dollars spent in the last 5 years alone. Great Driver Quality Impala SS ready to enjoy!
