Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this smooth 1967 Oldsmobile W-30 442. By the time 1967 arrived, the American muscle car wars were in full swing. Ford entered the ring with their Fairlane GT while Dodge bullied the pack with the Coronet R/T. Not to be outdone, Buick countered with the GS as Chevrolet claimed street superiority with the SS…while silently, Oldsmobile brought their own full bodied street slugger to the fight with the W-30 442. Approximately 500 W-30 442s were manufactured with only 129 being sport coupes. This ’67 Olds was treated to a recent high quality restoration by a true Oldsmobile enthusiast and comes with full documentation including the original Protect-O-Plate. The correct 400 has been replaced by a fire breathing Olds 455 producing over 500hp and 600ft lbs of torque on the engine dyno. When you combine big block power with the original 4-speed M21 transmission and 3.91 gears, it’s time to buckle up and hold on tight. Please note, the original carb, distributor, intake, water pump, and heads are on the current 455 while the standard bore 400 engine block, crank, and flywheel come with the purchase of the vehicle. This two-ton terror looks right, sits right, sounds right, and drives far better than it did coming off the assembly line. The current owner was a stickler for making sure every body panel gap, paint work, and final fit and finish were spot on and to his standards. Pop the hood to gaze at the engine bay and red inner fenders or take a peek underneath and you’ll the witness same stringent attention to detail. The American Racing “Daisy” styled inspired wheels finish off the correct period look and front disc brakes bring things to a smooth stop. A timeless example of, “Show and Go,” you can head out to the local car show and toss the trophy’s you’ll win in back just before driving over to the drag strip and leaving envious spectators with their jaws on the ground wondering what just happened. Olds enthusiasts pay attention because this one checks every box.
