1980 Pontiac Trans Am Turbo Indy Pace Car
Here’s my “barn find” that I purchased straight off a farm in Pennsylvania over 20 years ago. I actually purchased two, but the other one which I sold after was in extremely bad shape since it had been in an accident. Since then this car has sat in storage for 20 years. A year ago, I lost that storage and brought all my projects home. Reality has set in that I don’t have enough room now to keep everything like I’d like to. So with that being said, I’m testing the waters to see if I can find the right person for this car. Being in the business for over 30 years, I’m a purist and will not sell this for parts. I’ve always gone by the motto that “it’s not the right car for the person; it’s the right person for the car”.

1980 Pontiac Trans Am Turbo Pace Car Package
Rolling chassis has no motor or transmission. Car was set up for drag racing by its previous owner. Modifications included mounts and hedders for worked 400cu.in motor, sub-frame connectors, custom exhaust, driveshaft loop, traction bars, and custom gauge panel with switches. Everything else on the car is original.
I have the original red back lit gauges, shifter assembly, driveshaft, A/C compressor, alternator, radiator and shroud. Original mirrored T-Tops and white turbo wheels are in good condition, and most of the original interior is fair.
Now, the car has two issues, one being a rust through area that has developed over time between the t-tops, which is common in these cars. Looking online there is a replacement panel for this area. Second, the car has some rust spots, mostly on the lower panels, and the rear passenger quarter looks like it was side swiped.
This car is PMD/PHS documented to prove its a true Pace Car. Registered with the Indy Pace Car Registry.
