1981 Delorean DMC-12 … This particular Delorean had spent its entire life in southern California until purchased by us … It had only been driven 52,000 miles and had been owned by the same family since new … Once the car arrived at our shop in Illinois, it was transparent that the car needed some recommissioning before the sale … After an inspection at a well-known DMC facility in Chrystal Lake, Illinois, it was brought to our attention that the car needed a little more than “recommissioning” … Our visit included a complete tear down & rebuild of the cooling system, replacement of the brakes, a major tune up, and some surprise cylinder head work which was in excess of $11,000 … We also fitted a new fuel pressure accumulator & warm up regulator at our facility … With a bit of a commitment the car is now in excellent running condition & drives well … Although an extremely nice example, this car would benefit from some minor “PDR” work and re-grain of the stainless if you were seeking perfection, but it shows well as seen.
