Avondale Ship Yard 119′ LCU 1466 Class Landing Craft had been running heavy equipment since 2011 when she was restored. In 2016 she underwent a major refit including new propellers, shafts, bearings and rebuilt rudders and rebuilt gate. Hull was sounded and plate replaced in all areas of concern. She just came off a lease and is located near San Francisco and has been in fresh water since 1975 after Vietnam. Just you tube “Lingayen Gulf LCU 1528” and you will see her in action. She is ready to work privately but if you want to do for hire would require a COI. She is registered with ABS and could make a great gold mining platform. Perfect for island freight or dredging operations. Price has just been dropped for quick sale to $499k. She holds 180 tons on deck and has been insured for $795k hull and 10 million liability. When we bought her in 2011 she had no engines so we put rebuilt 3x Detroits and 3 rebuilt Twin Disc in her and a new Yanmar 30kw generator, plus a on deck 10kw onan and there is a 25kw detroit in the bilge. Cruises at 6-7 knots @25GPH loaded. Draws 3.5 feet empty and 5 feet loaded. She also has two 40′ spuds with winches. All new deck hatches. She was origionally built in 1954.
