THE ’57 RANCHERO WAS THE FIRST MODEL YEAR. EL CAMINO CAME ALONG IN ’59. GREAT CONCEPT. THIS ONE HAS BEEN MY DAILY DRIVER FOR 30 YEARS OR SO. AFTER SEVERAL PAINT JOBS I JUST HAD IT SCRAPED TO BARE METAL AND PAINTED, NO RUST ISSUES, ONE ROCKER REPLACED. BASICALLY A RESTOMOD. NEWER CRATE 302, MAYBE 5K ON IT, NEW BRAKES AND TIRES. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REBUILT ABOUT THREE YEARS AGO, UPGRADED FRONT END SUSPENSION, ELECTRIC WINDOWS. BUMPERS, AND GRILL ARE ORIGINAL AND HAVE MINOR CHROME ISSUES BUT ARE OK FOR A DRIVER, CHROME WHEELS ARE OLDER AND HAVE MINOR ISSUES AS WELL. ALL STAINLESS WAS POLISHED. INTERIOR AND ELECTRICAL CLEANED UP. IT HAS BUCKETS AND STORAGE AREA BEHIND SEATS. CUSTOM FIBERGLASS BED COVER COST A FEW LARGE. MILEAGE IS A GUESS, I HAVE HAD IT FOR 30+ YEARS AT 2-3 THOUSAND PER YEAR ,MAX. ONE OF THE BEST DRIVERS YOU WILL COME ACROSS.
