1962 Dodge Dart Custom 2 door Hardtop hemi Wagon Super Stock hot rod drag car
You are looking at the only 2 door hardtop 1962 Dodge Dart wagon on earth. It was custom built in California back in 1995 from 2 rust free cars. A 4 door wagon and a 2 door hardtop coupe. There is, and was, absolutely no rust on either car. The underside of this wagon has not been restored and is as dry and clean and looks as if it came from the factory just a few years ago. I recently purchased this car to fulfill my bucket list to own a 426 Hemi car. The problem is, now I am afraid to drive it. It is just too nice of a car for me to drive around this crazy St. Louis MO area. I have a Mopar Muscle magazine from January 1999 that has a multi page article on it when it was still the factory green 4 door wagon but with this Hemi engine in it.
Ram Charger clone car. The previous owner paid $2000. for the rights to use the name Ramcharger.
I am not a Mopar guy, but I will do my best to describe it as it is today.
The body, chrome, stainless trim, paint, are all super nice. The red stripes are paint. All graphics are vinyl and can be easily removed. Ion fact, I removed some already but left the “owner / driver” on it for the next owner to add their name.
The interior is all new. The gas gauge, amp gauge, speedometer, wipers, lights, etc. all work. It has a very high end stereo system but I disconnected it at the battery, because I did not want to take a chance on it draining juice from the battery.
The engine is a replacement block form Mopar Performance. I assume it was purchased over the counter back in the early 90,s. date code 6C20. I assume the date code stands for 1990 as the car was built in 1995? Casting number is 2468330-M. From what I can find on line, the “M” stands for a Mopar Performance Mega Block? The guy before me had it completely rebuilt to “street Hemi” specifications with 10:1 compression so he could drive it on the street with 93 octane pump gas. It has a Mopar cross ram intake and the correct Mopar Holley 4160 carbs for the intake. MSD 6 al box and MSD Pro Billit Distributer. High torque starter. Custom built valve covers.
The transmission is a 727 push button torque elite with B&M hi-stall converter and valve body.
It has a 8 3/4 rear end. The spider gears face out on me, so I had a new era end installed. It has the desirable 489 case with 3:55 gears and a new Eaton True Track posi unit.
Exhaust consist of custom built headers, Flow master mufflers, and custom built 3″ pipes all the way out the back. Sounds awesome.
The front suspension is all rebuilt including new torsion bars and shocks. All new brakes also with a disc brake conversion up front.
Tires are new B F Goodrich radials. Fronts are P225/70R15 and back are P285/70R15. Wheels are new American Racing 15×8 and 15×10. The rear springs were moved inward a little to give clearance for the large rear tires.
I drove it on the highway recently when it was 95 degrees with high humidity and it ran at 180 degrees the whole time. Oil pressure held at 60lbs too.
I know I am forgetting something here, so please call me, Dave, at three 14-732-592 five with any and questions before you bid on this car.
I have actual receipts from the guy before me totaling over $36,000.00 That is AFTER he purchased the car as a custom built 2 door “green” wagon with the 426 Hemi engine in it. I don’t know what his total investment was in this car was, but to build it today you would have to spend a whole lot of money for sure.
