This Shelby was ordered over 2 years before production began on the much anticipated 2007 Shelby GT500s. It was sent to Saleen Speedlab right after it arrived.
From what we understand:
The owner knew Steve Saleen personally and Saleen did the work on this Shelby GT500 in order to get the specifics to make the parts that would fit on the Shelby GT500s. Carroll Shelby found out that Saleen did this vehicle .. words were exchanged (to put it nicely) .. and an agreement that no other Shelbys would go to Saleen was made.
The dash plaque is signed by Carroll Shelby. Steve Saleen personally signed the vehicle along with every crew member from SALEEN SpeedLab that built it
