50′ Aluminum Expedition Pilothouse SAILBOAT
For sale is a 50′ aluminum expedition sailboat. This sailboat was made for long distance , offshore, singlehanded cruising. With beefed up front for ice. Refitted in 2016-2017 with new mast, rigging ,sails ,engine,electronics ,solar panels,safety rails,interior ,etc. basically a new boat now. Very safe, comfortable and dry .very roomy. This sailboat will safely take you to anywhere you want to go, weather its the northern passage or the south pacific. just back from a 2 month cruise to Bahamas.it has a 4 1/2 foot draft. i replaced the 3 bladed prop with a 4 blade and it made a great deal of difference. in a head wind or against a current it just plows right thru no problem. it cruises with engine at 6 knots burning 1/2 gallon a hour. bump it up to 8-9 and it burns 3/4 gallon a hour. its much faster sailing than motoring . does a easy 8 knots sailing all day long. contact me at 843-340-1487. this was built by the owner of a boat manufacturer that made aluminum military patrol boats. when i purchased it i had the hull checked for corrosion . not one bad spot. i then completely redid the whole boat. new mast rigging sails electronic engine . goes on and on. then i got cancer which is now cured but requires a monthly checkup so that stopped my around the world plans.
